Inquiry opens requests to attend its Health and Social Care Impact Hearings (16-19 April and 23-26 April)
The Scottish COVID-19 Inquiry is now accepting requests to attend its Health and Social Care Impact Hearings (16-19 April and 23-26 April).
During these weeks, the Inquiry will sit on the following dates:
Tuesday 16, Wednesday 17, Thursday 18 and Friday 19 April |
Tuesday 23, Wednesday 24, Thursday 25 and Friday 26 April |
More information about the core participants and organisations giving evidence each day will be published shortly. The Inquiry has contacted all core participants with leave to appear by email in relation to requests to attend.
There is limited space available in the hearing room at George House, 126 George Street, Edinburgh, the Inquiry’s venue for Health and Social Care Impact Hearings, so there may be times when it will not be possible to accommodate everyone wishing to attend impact hearings at this venue.
On sitting days, the Inquiry has a dedicated viewing room at Regus, 93 George Street, Edinburgh, where a broadcast of the proceedings can be watched from the Inquiry’s YouTube channel. Those who wish to attend but cannot be accommodated in the hearing room may be able to request a space in the viewing room instead.
Requests to attend either the hearing room or the viewing room should be submitted by email to hearingsandwitnesses@covid19inquiry.scot with the following information:
- Name;
- date(s) requested;
- core participant group (if applicable);
- role (e.g. group member, legal/lay representative/member of the public); and
- venue preference (i.e., hearing room or viewing room).
If you wish to place a request to attend one venue only, please specify this. Otherwise, the request will be considered for both venues.
A dedicated space for journalists and the media is also available at Regus George Street. Media requests to attend should be directed to media@covid19inquiry.scot.
The Inquiry is committed to being trauma-informed and person-centred, and the Hearings and Witnesses Team welcomes feedback in relation to attendance at hearings. Any queries or feedback you may have in relation to this process can be sent to hearingsandwitnesses@covid19inquiry.scot.
