Inquiry announces start date for final tranche of impact hearings

The Scottish COVID-19 Inquiry will hold a further series of impact hearings between February and June 2025, exploring impacts of the pandemic which have not yet been covered in the health and social care, education and certification, or business and welfare themes.

The Inquiry is adopting a thematic approach to this final tranche of hearings, starting on 18 February with impacts on the justice system. It anticipates completing its justice system impact hearings on or around 28 February, before turning its attention to the other themes, which will be announced in due course.

On Wednesday 22 January 2025, the Inquiry will hold a preliminary hearing in respect of this final tranche of hearings.

The Inquiry invites core participants to submit applications for leave to appear in respect of its justice system impact hearings.

Applications will be open from Monday 4 November until Friday 29 November 2024.

Core participants can find the Inquiry’s Protocol on Leave to Appear and the required application form on our Protocols page.
